Patrick Mahomes supports wife Brittany at Sports Illustrated party after Harrison Butker’s ‘homemaker’ comment

Patrick Mahomes is proud to be a plus-one.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback supported his wife, Brittany Mahomes, at the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party Thursday after his teammate Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech.

Patrick, 28, posed on the red carpet in a black suit and matching sunglasses, accessorizing with a silver chain.
Brittany, also 28, stunned in a silver Oscar de la Renta dress.
The sheer gown featured floral designs hugging her body before deconstructing into shiny strands reaching for the floor.
The former soccer player, who was named one of the magazine’s Rookies earlier this year, completed her look with metallic sandals and a small silver purse.
“Brought my +1 to @si_swimsuit,” Brittany captioned loved-up snaps via Instagram, with Patrick gushing about how “proud” he felt in his own post.
Their Instagram followers praised the athlete for being a “supportive husband” to his “hardworking wife” at the New York City event, joking that “Harrison Butker is shook.”
The Chiefs kicker, 28, has gone viral over his May 11 speech at the Benedictine College graduation ceremony, where he told female students that “homemaker” should be their “most important” role in life.
Patrick and Brittany have yet to comment on the sexist speech, which also featured a lyric from Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” album.
Butker notably referred to the Grammy winner, 34, as his “teammate [Travis Kelce’s] girlfriend” while quoting “Bejeweled.”
The Georgia Tech grad has played for the Missouri-based NFL team since 2017, joining the same year as Patrick.
The QB said on “The Pat McAfee Show” in February that he does not talk to his teammate “all year” and “just let[s] him do his thing.”
“We sit right beside each other in team meetings, and I don’t say one word to him, only before the season and after the season,” he said at the time. “That’s the only time I talk to him.”
While Patrick has yet to address the scandal, former Chiefs star Mitch Schwartz’s wife, Brooke Schwartz, blasted the “Handmaid’s Tale”-esque speech via Instagram.
