One of the greatest tennis players of all time isn’t convinced that Serena Williams could still win multiple majors.

Injuries have seemingly become an adversity for Williams’ chase for a 24th grand slam.

The American legend suffered a leg injury at Wimbledon and was compelled to withdraw from the tournament.

With the US Open fast approaching, tennis legend Martina Navratilova gauges Williams’ chances of equalling Margaret Court’s all-time record.

According to Navratilova’s assessment, Williams could possibly win her 24th major and her “best shot” of copping it is at the upcoming US Open, barring any type of injury.

As for setting a new all-time grand slam record, Navratilova doesn’t see Williams achieving the said feat.

“I do not think that Serena [Williams] can win more than 24 majors, but she can reach that number,” Navratilova recently told Tennis.com. “I thought she had a great shot at Wimbledon, but it did not happen.”

“If she is healthy, then US Open is her best shot outside Wimbledon,” the 18-time Grand Slam winner added. “[But] It’s about 50-50 at this point.”

It has been four years since Williams last won a major title. Affirming her hopes to finally to put an end to her drought, her longtime coach and mentor Patrick Mouratoglou revealed that his pupil is still yearning to win more grand slams this year.
