Patrick Mahomes says he has been missing opportunities
Patrick Mahomes declared he feels he isn’t playing well after another tough game for the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, September 22 despite the defending champions maintaining their 100% start to the season.
The Chiefs emerged 22-17 victors, but it was another game where their defense proved to be MVPs against Kirk Cousins after another off-colour showing from Travis Kelce whilst Rashee Rice stood tall.
Mahomes threw for two touchdowns and 217 yards at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium but also threw one interception and only completed 66.7% of his attempts, the lowest of the campaign for the 29-year-old.
“I feel like I haven’t played very well and that’s not a stats thing,” Mahomes said. “I just feel like I’m missing opportunities whenever they’re out there and not throwing the ball in the exact spot I want it to be at.
“It’s about me getting back to my fundamentals, putting our guys in the right position, and then we’ve got to execute at a higher level offensively.
