Enraged Gal Gadot Pledges to Never Work With Joss Whedon Again As He Threatened Her Career

Following Joss Whedon’s response to the Justice League allegations, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has said she will never work with the director again.
Justice League star Gal Gadot has vowed to never work with director Joss Whedon again. The actress, who features as Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman in the Justice League movie, has responded to the recent, lengthy version of events revealed by Joss Whedon, with Gadot rejecting them outright and saying she will not work with the director again.

Revealed by Vulture, the Wonder Woman actress’ stern words come in response to Whedon’s recent explanation regarding reports that he had threatened Gadot’s career during reshoots on the DC movie, with the director instead blaming a misunderstanding and reasoning that “English is not her first language.” Understandably, Gadot has not taken too kindly to this, saying that she “understood perfectly” and will “never work with him,” even suggesting that her peers do the same.

The nightmare that was the production of Justice League is now well-documented, with The Avengers director Joss Whedon being brought in to film reshoots following the departure of the movie’s original director Zack Snyder after he suffered a personal tragedy. Since then, Cyborg actor Ray Fisher has accused Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” behavior on set. In response, Whedon has said of Fisher, “We’re talking about a malevolent force,” concluding that, “We’re talking about a bad actor in both senses.” This response is unlikely to win Whedon much support.

Gadot meanwhile has accused Whedon of threatening her career; “He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable and I just took care of it on the spot,” she said in May 2021. Whedon has now blamed Gadot’s inability to understand English, which again is unlikely to win him much, if any, support. In hindsight, perhaps he should have just stayed quiet.

Gal Gadot Has Plenty of High-Profile Movies in the Pipeline

Despite the disaster that was Justice League, Gal Gadot’s star continues to rise at a rapid pace, with the actress due to return to the role of Wonder Woman in an upcoming sequel. While plot details remain unknown at this time, Gadot has said that she would prefer for it to be set in the modern-day, rather than explore the past as the previous movies in the franchise have. Wonder Woman 3 will once again be helmed by Patty Jenkins, with Gadot recently providing a promising update regarding production; “We’re developing the script right now. We’ll probably start in a year and a half or so.”

As well as suiting up as the Amazonian Warrior, Gadot is also due to reunite with fellow A-listers Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds for not one, but two sequels to the Netflix action-adventure hit, Red Notice. Both Red Notice 2 and Red Notice 3 are due to shoot back-to-back next year.

Finally, Gadot has signed on to lead a remake of the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock classic, To Catch a Thief, which will find the actress as a former cat burglar who finds herself in the spotlight once again after a robbery takes place and she is accused of committing it. Gal Gadot will next appear in director Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile, which is due for release on February 11, 2022.
