Coco had a great Qatar Open
This was the first time Gauff played in the Qatar Open. In the singles tournament, she reached the quarter-final. Unfortunately, the American lost to Maria Sakkari in straight sets. However, that loss didn’t demoralize Coco, as she won the doubles tournament with Jessica Pegula. Notably, Coco lost to Pegula in the opening round at the Dubai Open in the singles event.

In the finals, the American pair beat the no.3 seed; the pair of Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova, by 3-6,7-5,10-5.

At the age of 17, this doubles win will motivate Coco for the upcoming tournaments. Although Coco didn’t have a great Australian open, she can perform well in future Grand Slam events. Right now, her focus should be on the Indian Wells, which will start next month.
