Fans are now wondering if the slap was just a marketing stunt to promote the Roast
Comedy Central announced Friday the “Roast of Will Smith hosted by Chris Rock,” saying the show will serve as a way to ‘patch things up’ betwen the two actors following the slap at the Oscars.
Smith, who slapped Rock at the Oscars ceremony for a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, is ready to make up for his poor reaction by sitting on the Roast throne as comedians hold nothing back. The star-studded guests to roast Smith will include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider and Salma Hayek, among others.

Was Will Smith slapping Chris Rock a publicity stunt?
After the announcement by Comedy Central, fans were left wondering if the slap was a premeditated marketing stunt to promote the Roast. One fan pointed out that the lineup of guest roasters is way too good to have been planned out after the Oscars.
Smith, however, just quit the Academy, which would be a drastic measure to take if the slap was just a promotional stunt. Although, one thing is for sure: this article is an APRIL FOOLS’ joke! Even though it would be the best Roast of all time, it’s not real, as of now.
